Aim of the course

The course is designed to enable candidates to gain welding skills and knowledge to a level that will enable them to work on projects at home safely. You can develop further skills on our other courses.

How is it taught?

This is predominantly a practical course delivered in our workshop. It includes all the underpinning knowledge of welding as a profession, as well as the Health & Safety requirements. Alongside the practical workshop sessions, you will be expected to do a small amount of reading and internet research to answer the assessment questions at the end of the course.

You will need to bring PPE i.e. steel toe cap boots and flame-retardant overalls. These can be hired from our shared facilities or purchased directly from our stockroom.
