Who should attend?
The course is predominantly a practical course delivered in our workshop. It includes all the underpinning knowledge of welding as a profession, as well as the Health & Safety requirements.
Alongside the practical workshop sessions, there is an expectation that you do a small amount of reading and internet research to answer the assessment questions at the end of the course.
You will need to bring PPE, i.e. steel toe cap boots, flame-retardant overalls, hood and welding gloves. These can be purchased or hired from our shared facilities.
How am I assessed?
At the end of the programme, you will have produced two practical joints that pass visual inspection and take part in a short oral discussion with your tutor.
There are no formal entry requirements for this level of study. The course is for new starts and total beginners.
This course starts on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday every week and runs from 09:00 to 16:00.
Using the calendar below to select your preferred start date in dark green, select any PPE required and then press book.
